About.

Even though I’ve never voiced it in my life, I feel like I should say

G’day!

Because I’m an Australian, without a permanent home.

But hi.

You won’t believe I’m 23, because I look pubescent.

although the beard helps.

but hi I'm an adult.

I'm a morning person.

I feel like anything I write is going to change, so here are some untouchables:

this is the one and only time I skated (don't be impressed).

I love loving Jesus.

I spent 2012 blogging my adventures through the US, Malawi, Canada, independent living, and learning about HIV and AIDS (which is where this blog began!).

I spent 2013 blogging a whole lot less about moving over the other side of the world - to the USA, falling in love, getting engaged and figuring out my everything (mission: unaccomplished).

I’m spending 2014 moving again, getting married and then? oh - goodness knows what. My life is in the hands of a real great God; and where we are going to live, what we are going to do and how we are going to do it? It's in His hands.

I run, enjoy camping, and am in love with this American. He's the reason I say 'we':

sometimes we take awkward photos in Colorado.

I call him my Americman.  But others call him Luke.

I have a probably unhelpful degree in (one breathe) a :

Bachelor of Arts in the Faculty of Science double majoring in Development Studies and Culture Change and Writing.

my 'I have a useless degree' face.

What? Exactly.

I love the Bible, and figuring out what that means about life. I love to travel and adventure, and I never want to sit still.

this is my family and I love them.
dress rehearsal for wedding? check.
I don’t know how to be a wife, but I’m about to become one.
I love to travel, and drink coffee, and collect mugs, and live out of a suitcase, and be outside, and write poems and books and take photos, and bake, and I dream of somewhere cold, but I also like the sun, and I like most weather; but rain and thunder most of all. I love Winter, and my heart, soul and mind long to be sharing life with those less fortunate then I (and oh, I am abundantly blessed!). My stuff, my life, community; I want to share it all forever please.

I also enjoy trees and animals and nature and recycling and hiking and paddleboarding and playing card games - for hours, every day of my life (namely: Dominion and canasta, be still my beating heart).

apparently I pout with animals..

I love medical missions, hersheys kisses and tapir’s.

I have this weird thing where I feel emotions for inanimate objects (ask me about the juice story if we’re ever out), and even though I’m shy and fiercely independent, somehow public speaking is my thing.

I don’t mind spiders, but can’t stand coral, or icing, or bridal showers, or cake.

I have dreams about second hand book stores, with in built cafe bakerys, in impoverished places, with feeding programs, spare bedrooms, places to pray and peace abounding.

Right now?

I’m living in my home town, Sydney – waiting for my fiancé, in Omaha Nebraska (but from the North Pole Alaska) to come and be my husband.

The north pole in North Pole, Alaska.

Was this ever part of my plan? Well no not really, but I follow where I'm lead, and I hold the hand that holds the world. So I'm not worried.
I just moved back from living abroad, and I have a lot of stories.

Whoever you are, wherever you are, you are welcome here.

It’s Rope; loops, bows and loose ends.

I’m Bec, by the way.

And you are both welcome and wonderful.
