butts & trees

That’s pretty much 90% of what’s left on my camera after this weekend. Saturday, the most common phrase I herd (see what I did there?) was absolutely, “is that a…? No, it’s a rock”. But it was a blessed one. One in which I fulfilled an absolute childhood dream. Saturday, I went on safari.

trees
& butts.
I love animals. They give me great joy and truly delight me in every way. And I saw warthogs and monkeys and crocodiles and zebra (singular) and birds and hippo’s and all kinds of small and large hairy brown and horned things. And I saw elephants, herds in the distance, and then babies up close, and one giant, beautiful enormous one up even closer. Within meters. It was breath-taking and wonderful.

brown horned thing.

first glimpse!

oh hey big cutie.

monkeys.

there is an elephant in there. promise.

I am blessed. I am blessed. I am blessed.

rock hippos.

warthogs. the best!

In my quiet times at the moment God is very good at directing me towards wonderful, timely verses about hope. It seems He wants to teach me a thing or two about what that means. Today’s gems:

Romans 5:2-4

We boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.

small brown things.

Romans 8:20-25

20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.
22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23 Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies.24 For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? 25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.

dying with happiness inside.

love love love.
